Have you ever thought about a blanket with this perfect crochet stitch - free step by step

Hello my friends, lovers of standard crochet, I have been falling in love lately with diversified crochet stitches, when I find a different one from the usual I am very excited to share quickly. As I found this one I was delighted with this pattern and decided to research and find ways to do it, both the video tutorial and the step by step of this point called Spike Stitch. This crochet pattern can turn into a lot of work, such as: blanket, cushion, rugs, sofa covers, scarfs, hats and much more, just have an imagination of crochet love that will do whatever you want with this wonderful crochet stitch.

One of my reasons why I love Spike Stitch is the versatility of a stitch, which means that you can create a variety of different textures and designs using this simple technique!

Materials used:

Crochet hook 4.5 mm hook, G / 6 or 4 mm hook, H / 8 or 5 mm hook

Yarn weight (3) Lightweight / DK (21-24 stitches at 4 inches)

Step 1: Chain 12 with color 1. Then work FOUR rows of single crochet with color 1.

Step 2: At the end of the FOURTH row and BEFORE turning, join color 2 and chain 1.

Step 3: Find the next chain stitch, but DO NOT insert your hook. Follow the next chain stitch to the SECOND row from your hook/current working row. Insert your hook into this stitch to begin the first “spike.”

Step 4: Draw up a loop through the stitch and bring it even with the other loop on your hook at the top of your work.

Step 5: Yarn over and draw the yarn through BOTH loops on your hook to complete the first “spike.”

Step 6: Repeat [Steps 3, 4, and 5]-this time into the THIRD row below the hook and in line with the next chain stitch.

Step 7: Repeat [Steps 3, 4, and 5]-this time into the FOURTH row below the hook and in line with the next chain stitch.

Step 8: Continue [Steps 3, 4, and 5] in the following row order- [3,2,3,4,3,2…] to the end of the row.

Step 9: Work FOUR rows of single crochet with color 2.

Step 10: Repeat all steps, now with color 1.
